Transaction Periods

The Current Period can be viewed on this form and modified if required.

All transaction batches that are processed will set the transaction period for all transactions in the batch to the Current Period, irrespective of the Date of each transaction.

Close Current Period​

This will close the transaction period and move the Current Period to the next month.

Open Previous Period​

This will close the transaction period and move the Current Period to the previous month.

Opening the previous period should be done only when some transaction batches that should be processed in the previous transaction period were not processed. In such a case, open the previous transaction period, process all the transaction batches for that period, then close the transaction period again.

Opening the previous period should be done with care and closed as soon as possible.

Since some transactions may be later than the Current Period, it may cause the following issues:

  1. Student account enquiries will not show the correct outstanding balance.
  2. The age analysis will not show the correct balances.
  3. Debit Order processing will not calculate the correct outstanding balance.
  4. The summary on the Home screen will not show the be correct balances.
