SMS Messages
Why does the student log indicate the SMS was blacklisted?
The SMS delivery status will indicate BLIST if the recipient opted-out of SMS communcation. The recipient can opt-out of SMS messages by sending a reply to the SMS message received from the school with the words STOP, DELETE, REMOVE or OPT-OUT.
By law the school will no longer be able to send SMS messages to that number. ScholaSys will automatically mark the cell number as Invalid to prevent further SMS communication to that number.
See SMS Delivery Status and Allow SMS.
What happens if a recipient Opted-Out by accident?
The recipient can send a detailed email to the school, from where the original message was sent from, giving them permission to add the number in question to their account. The school can then forward that email on to us, and we will request the SMS Service Provider to remove the number from the school account's blacklist.
